So yummy, so easy and so summery! Let’s bake this summer desert which will make you smile.
Ingredients:
3/4 cup all-purpose flower plus more for the cake pan
¼ cup corn meal
2 fresh plums cut into half-moon slices
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup white sugar
1 tablespoon powder sugar for decoration
½ cup buttermilk
4 tablespoon unsalted butter room temperature plus more for the cake pan
1 egg
Directions:
1-Preheat oven to 375 Degrees Fahrenheit.
2-Butter a 9 inch square cake pan and dust with flour.
3-Whisk flour, corn meal, baking powder, baking soda and salt together.
4-Mix butter, egg, milk and sugar with an electric mixer about 3 to 5 minutes.
5-Add flour mixture in and mix it until just combined.
6-Transfer the batter to the cake pan.
7-Place sliced plums on top.
8-Bake until golden brown about 40 -45 minutes.
9-Let it cool down and sift powder sugar on top.
10-Serve with some ice cream if you would like.
